This abstract art piece represents a cryostat cross-section of a mouse skeletal muscle labeled for myosin isoforms showing heterogeneous distribution. This cryostat muscle section was immunostained using antibodies for various myosin isoforms expressed in different fibers (myosin type I, cyan; myosin IIa, blue, myosin IIb-magenta, and laminin white). The 4 color zstack-tile image was acquired with a Zeiss 980 confocal, and stitched and deconvolved with Huygens, and MIP-rendered.
